Children's summer dress.

Children's summer dress.

1840 - 1850 France.

The dress repeats the style of adult dresses of that time. Worn with a crinoline (fabric with a horsehair base, since 1856, an underskirt with whalebone hoops sewn into it or made of steel to give a bell-shaped skirt). For girls 4-5 years old. Light brown linen. Large open neckline. Small sleeves decorated with embroidery and lace. On the waist there is a decoration - a rose, on the chest - a cabochon-turquoise brooch.
